The last commute of the year today made 224 for the total this year. That accounts for the very great majority of work days when I was not out of town.
My winter beater is doing fine.
The winter beater is equipped with:
- Alfine 8 speed hub
- zinc plated chain
- stainless Berthoud fenders
- Schwalbe Marathon Winter tires
- Moose Mitts
- Appropriate lighting
It wasn’t terribly cold (-1°C), and so I didn’t have my full on winter gear on.
- endura jacket
- two wool jerseys
- outlier climber pants (good to -1o°C)
- I’m trying out some 3mm thick Neoprene gloves for wet and sloppy conditions (with Glo Glovs over them, of course)
- Helmet with earflaps
