This morning, we had some qualifying runs, and then some speed runs from 5 miles. Unfortunately, due to a logistical delay mid session, not all racers got to run before the 10 am cutoff.
First, some pictures of the hard working timing crew. Here are John and Gary, who lay down tape at the start of the 200m traps. They’ve had an interesting time so far, being hit with a dust devil yesterday, and some additional excitement today….
Here is Sebastian Bowler pushing VeloX above 70 mph for the first at BM, going 76 mph, illegal wind.
We had two flat tires this morning. Tiffany Underwood flatted in the Firefly trike just a couple of 100m before the traps.
Also during the last qualifying run of the morning, Jan-Marcel Van Dijken flatted and crashed in the same spot, and the bike slid on its side for about 150m, stopping not too much short of the crew at 200m. Fortunately, both the bike and rider are fine.
