BM2012: Thursday AM results

It was a beautiful morning for racing, with mostly low winds.
Will and Jim, respectively, going thru the traps on their Aero Moultons.
U of T headed up to start. It turns out that their plan to airship the bikes fell through, and so this is how they got the bikes to Battle Mountain.

Ellen’s bike has very special tires.
This is the chassis of the world’s fastest tandem. Larry took the frame from Goliath, and stretched it out so that the riders could be more laid back.
Eric broke a rib in his crash on Monday, so he is out for the week. That hasn’t stopped them from being busy fixing up the Wedge.
The big result of this morning is that Thomas finally passed the 70 mph barrier after several years of trying, and is closing in on 75!
