BM2012: Friday afternoon
September 14, 2012 by jnyyz
After the morning heats, everyone is back at the Super8 working on their bikes.
Here, Thomas is working on Cygnus Beta while Jan Marcel and David get a little facetime with home.
Nitroglycerin has a lot of nice details. Here is the drivetrain with a nifty carbon chainguard.
These pivots must both limit the steering and brace the fork.
A real Aussie wheel weight.
Ben and Gareth apply their special wax to the fairing.
Here is the interior of the Velox2.
I’ve flipped this image upside down to give a rider’s view of the video screens.
It being friday afternoon, it’s time for the drag races. The diversity of bikes that show up make the waiting area look like the Mos Eisley cantina.
Here are the two Aero Moultons. Dave Kennedy, to the left, designed the fairing on the bike he is holding.
The interior of the Kennedy bike. It is based on an AM7.
The two moultons taking off at the line.
Head starter Chris Broome on his Catrike. He is taking a break from two wheelers on his doctor’s advice.
Kira (Super Seven) vs. Will (Gemini)
Marieke takes a ride on Ellen’s training bike. She lines up against Mike.
Adrian vs Matt (Gemini). Matt can spin pretty fast on this bike.
It’s also a nice opportunity to chat with curious townspeople. Here Georgi gives a local a ride on his e-assisted leaning Varna trike.
Looking forward to more racing action this evening!
