During the seeding meeting midday today, it was widely assumed that tomorrow morning would have better conditions, and so many people decided not to run, and many slots were occupied by the lower seeded racers. However, the winds were much lower than forecast, and most of the runs were wind legal.
For several racers it was their first time down the five mile, and some went slower than they did in qualifying. Apparently Florian was going 65 mph at midcourse, but slowed down to about 50 as he went through the traps.
Dave Collins finally got a clean run down the five mile and was rewarded by a 60 mph hat. Unfortunately, Ken had camera problems during his run, and he deliberately slowed for most of the course. This put him just slightly ahead of Liske at timing.
Damjan dropped his chain at 2 miles and coasted the rest of the way.
Both Larry and Tom set personal bests in Beagle, but they were not wind legal runs.
