During the one heat of qualifying, it was great to see both Adam and the Japanese team got down the track. Adam was with a partial fairing, and Kazu was without.
Word is that Adam will run with the fairing tomorrow, and Kazu might use the front half of theirs.
During the first heat, Rosa went 75.24 mph into a 7 mph headwind. You do the math. The only wind legal run during the heat was Josh going 61.19 mph, just short of the American collegiate record, from what I was told.
During heat 2, Denise crashed because of flat on the rear. Titan coasted through the traps at 42 mph. They tell me that they stopped pedalling after mile 3.
Before heat 3, the rocket launcher went through the traps at 65.25 mph, legal wind.
Unfortunately, the sprocket rocket itself went slower than yesterday. They had drivetrain issues, and at catch they braked abruptly and flatted all four front tires.
Here are the results.
During the break this afternoon, the Japanese team checked to see if their rider fit Seiran, but it was a bit too tight.
Let’s hope for low winds tonight.
