Five heats at the five mile followed by one at the 2.5 mile distance. Winds were bad for the first three heats which was too bad .
Titan looking a bit worse for wear.
Adam Hari goes down the track with the hood. He went over fifty, not wind legal, but followed that up with a run in the 4th heat at 55.46, earning himself a 55 mph hat.
Mike Mowett finally earning a 60 mph hat.
Three other highlights: Bill Thornton pushing his Milan SL to 60.87 mph, becoming the first Velomobile pilot to go over 60 mph, wind legal. Prof. Guillaume de France finally rode Altair 6 without the crash panels, and went 72.16 mph.
Finally, Josh from Cal Poly finally nails down a wind legal run to reset the American collegiate record to 63.68 mph, and doing several barrel rolls as he came into catch. Thank goodness for their bike’s ASME grade safety roll cage and harness. He also passed N1 just before entering the traps, making life interesting for timing. Understand that there are no pictures of this as we were a little busy.
Now time for the group photo. Chaos reigns as the bikes line up.
U of T
Bas gets us organized.
A crappy ground level version of the picture that Bas will take.
The view from the back.
Yes Evan is deliberately facing backwards.
Officer Aten arrives to cuff the new record holders, as well as the fastest man and women.

One more evening of racing……
