Just before we headed out to the course we noticed some clouds to the south. Radar also indicated a significant storm.
Several of us race officials went out to the course. It was not raining hard, but the wind was very strong, far too strong to be able to set up any timing equipment. After some consultation with Al, it was decided to cancel tonight’s runs.
The storm was not in the long range forecast several days ago, and even today’s general forecast in the morning didn’t show it. Race fan Cobus pulled up, and he accepted responsibility for the rain since he just washed his car. He’ll be back next year to race his Milan velomobile.
Still very early in the week, with lots of racing to come.
A reminder of tomorrow morning’s start order.
